A year ago, I was exhausted.

Not just physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

I felt disconnected from myself, stuck in unhealthy patterns, and constantly running on empty. I kept looking for a breakthrough, but what I really needed was a return to Allah, to discipline, and to the small habits that heal a person from the inside out.

Over time, I learned that healing isn't one big moment.

It's a series of small choices.
A prayer you don't skip.
A boundary you finally set.
A walk you didn't feel like taking.
A dua whispered when no one else knew you were struggling.

So I put together a list of 30 things that helped me heal, regain my energy, and rebuild my strength through an Islamic lens.

Over the next few posts, I'll share the practices that transformed my faith, protected my peace, and helped me become stronger mentally, physically, and spiritually.

If you're feeling stuck right now, this series is for you.

May Allah make it beneficial and a means of healing for anyone who reads it. 🤍

"Indeed, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves." (Quran 13:)

Faith & Spiritual Healing

  1. Started my day with Fajr, even when it was difficult.

  2. Made dua consistently, especially when no one else understood what I was carrying.

  3. Read a few verses of the Quran every day.

  4. Remembered that Allah never burdens a soul beyond what it can bear.

  5. Practiced gratitude daily, even for the smallest blessings.

  6. Increased my istighfar (seeking forgiveness).

  7. Sent more salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ.

  8. Learned to trust Allah's timing instead of forcing my own.

  9. Replaced constant worrying with tawakkul (reliance upon Allah).

  10. Made dhikr throughout the day to calm my heart.

Protecting My Energy & Mental Well-Being

  1. Stopped comparing my life to what I saw online.

  2. Limited scrolling and became more intentional with my time.

  3. Created boundaries with people who constantly drained me.

  4. Stopped chasing closure from people and sought peace from Allah instead.

  5. Allowed myself to feel sadness without letting it define me.

  6. Spent intentional time alone reflecting and reconnecting with myself.

  7. Deleted conversations that kept me attached to the past.

  8. Chose peace over proving a point.

  9. Focused on what I could control and left the rest to Allah.

  10. Forgave myself for the version of me that was simply trying to survive.

Rebuilding My Strength

  1. Got sunlight and fresh air every morning.

  2. Started moving my body every day, even if it was only a walk.

  3. Prioritized sleep and treated rest as a responsibility, not a luxury.

  4. Drank more water and took better care of my health.

  5. Kept my environment clean and organized.

  6. Got dressed and showed up for myself daily.

  7. Developed simple routines instead of waiting for motivation.

  8. Did things with my hands cooking, cleaning, learning, creating.

  9. Focused on consistency rather than perfection.

  10. Took action before I felt ready and trusted Allah with the outcome.

One thing I've learned is that healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about returning to who Allah created you to be.

You don't have to do all 30 things at once. Choose one or two, stay consistent, and let Allah guide the rest.

"Indeed, with hardship comes ease." Quran 94:6

May Allah heal your heart, strengthen your faith, increase your rizq, and replace your struggles with peace and barakah.

Ameen. 🤍
